LIMA – CUSCO (2 DAY INCA TRAIL) – PUERTO MALDONADO (8 DAYS – 7 NIGTHS)

DAY 1: WELCOME TO LIMA

Upon your arrival you will be met by our representative at the international airport of Lima and then will be transferred to your hotel.  After hotel arrangement we start at 13pm Lima city tour: Tour to the most important and characteristic colonial areas of the city including the Plaza de Armas, capitol buildings, cathedral, archbishop’s palace, Desamparados train station and old streets with classical mansions with Moorish style balconies, San Francisco church with its majestic convent and catacombs. Leaving central Lima visit the neighborhoods of San Isidro and Miraflores and Love Park, demonstrating the contrast between old and modern Lima.

DAY 2: CUSCO AND CITY TOUR

Flight to Cusco. Pick up from Airport and transfer to the hotel. After hotel arrangement we start at 13pm Cusco city tour: It includes the most significant sites in and around Cusco City, such as: The Qoricancha (temple of the Sun) which displays the best Inca Stonework in a City and the Cathedral at the Cusco (Main Square) with its magnificent colonial art. The tour drives along the Circunvalacion Road up to famous fortress of Sacsayhuaman, amphitheatre of Qenqo, the fortress of Pucapukara and the spring shrine of Tambomachay.

DAY 3: SACRED VALLEY TOUR

We are going to pick you up at 8:30 in the morning from your hotel to go in the Sacred Valley of the Incas, with the traditional "Andean Market of Pisac", as well as the "Inca ruins of Pisac" and "Ollantaytambo".
The Sacred Valley was undoubtedly a key area of settlement to the Incas; its combination of agreeable climate and fertile plains bestow an unusual abundance for the high Andes. Here the Incas sculpted the mountain flanks with vast contour terracing and irrigation works. Our guide will suggest you the best points for pictures. We are going to spend the night in Ollantaytambo.

DAY 4: TREKKING TO THE LOST CITY OF INCAS – MACHUPICCHU

9:00am We take the train to Km 104, where we enter the trail. Our hike continues gently upward for approximately four hours until we reach the beautifully situated Inca complex of Winay Wayna. Sub-tropical flora and fauna surround us as we continue 2 hours to the Sun Gate, from where we see Machu Picchu. We walk down past the majestic ruins, and then take the bus to Aguas Calientes to spend a relaxing night.

DAY 5: TOUR IN MACHUPICCHU

After an early morning rise and breakfast, we take the short bus ride up to the Machu Picchu complex, where we will tour the amazing architecture and mysterious temples left by the Incas. A professional, English-speaking guide will help us understand the sophisticated ideas and technology of this highly-advanced culture. Once the official tour is completed, we will have plenty of time to explore the Sanctuary on our own before returning to Cusco by train in the afternoon

DAY 6: FLIGHT TO THE JUNGLE, CITY TOUR IN PUERTO MALDONADO – TOUR MONKEY ISLAND

Flight to Puerto Maldonado. After a reception at the airport, you will ride to the City center by bus. You will depart from the port and travel down the Madre de Dios River. During the trip you will see caimans, turtles, heron and other species of animals along the riverbanks.
When you arrive to the Ecoamazonia Lodge, you will be served an exquisite welcome drink, after which you will have time to settle into your bungalows and eat lunch.
In the afternoon, with our specialized guide, you will visit Monkey Island, which is only 5 minutes from the Lodge. During your hike through the island you will observe extraordinary scenery and exuberant flora that shelters a tremendous variety of monkeys in their natural habitat, such as the Black Spider Monkey, Capuchin Monkey, Tamarins, Squirrel Monkeys, and the South American Coati, as well as a number of bird species. You will complete your visit to Monkey Island by enjoying the sunset, and the returning to the Lodge for dinner.

DAY 7: TOUR IN THE LOST COCHA BY NATIVES GUIDES

After breakfast you begin your guide adventure through the virgin rainforest on foot to the Lost Cocha. The Lost Cocha is a protected ecosystem sustaining an immense variety of animals such as giant otters, caimans, turtles, Brazilian tapirs (sachavacas), colorful birds, the majestic jaguar, and diverse fish species.
This area par of the Ecoamazonia Reserve, because its immense swamps and marshes still remain fully intact today. Later you will arrive at our extraordinary Amazon Watch Tower, built at the top of an immense tree (Shihuahuaco) from where a grand view of the great and magical forest can be admired. This is complemented by a pleas4ent canoe tour around the Lake, after we return to the Lodge.
In the course of the afternoon, optional family visit to local family, to the botanical gardens and eco-swimming pool are available to guest and are free of any additional charge.

DAY 8: DEPARTURE DAY

After breakfast. Transfer to the airport for flight to Lima.
