For that is that all people working at here work as a team to make possible to help to the less fortunate people in the communities around Cusco. We decided to set up TREKS TO MACHUPICCHU in 2005 as a way generating a reliable source of income. This has allowed us to be financially independent as well as running a tour operator that we hope provides an example to others. To summarize, we make every effort to create a product that is competitive and of the highest quality, WHICH IS AUTO-SUSTAINABLE AND SUSTAINABLE OVER TIME. 50% from our profits goes to develop and support economically our social projects. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to show you the experience of a lifetime in Peru. AREAS OF CONCERNS: NUTRITION: CAUSES OF POOR EDUCATION MEDICAL ASSISTANT: WE WANT TO MAKE LA CASA DEL PORTEADOR (THE HOUSE FOR ALL THE PORTERS WORKING IN THE INCA TRAIL) TREKS TO MACHUPICCHU IS MADE UP OF VERY ENTHUSIASTIC YOUNG LOCAL GUIDES THAT WERE BORN IN CUSCO, AND WE ARE ALL AUTHENTIC HOMEGROW The Incas once a great civilization in South America living in cities likes Cusco, Sacred valley, Mahupicchu. Giving big contribution to the human kind with more than 3000 kind of potatoes. However, today they are seen as an “unimportant” people living far away because they were force out to leave their lands and go to live high on the Andes, over the 5000 meters above sea level (15000 feet) The Indians from the high lands wearing their typical costume, red color ponchos, make of wool from Andean camels, leaving form growing potatoes and andean grains, still speaking the Inca language, "Quechua", doesn’t have the opportunity to go in the school, to learn how to integrate and be part of the new advance civilization and enjoy of the opportunities of tourism and other kind of industries. They always come in last place The Indians of the Andes barely dare to look you in the eye. Centuries of suppression have destroyed their sense of self-worth.
